Floor Grilles

Project Details

At Saga’s Embrook Park headquarters in Sandgate, near Folkestone. Replacement of aluminium grilles.

Client: SAGA PLC

Sector: Commercial

Status: Completed

At Saga’s Emmbrook Park headquarters in Sandgate, near Folkestone, we were asked to address the failure of floor grilles within the main office block and conservatory. These aluminium grilles, integral to the building’s underfloor heating system, had begun to delaminate after decades of heavy use, leaving unsafe gaps and creating trip hazards.

With the building dating back to the late 1990s and replacement grilles no longer available, we were brought in to develop a bespoke solution. Working alongside the on-site maintenance team, we redesigned the grilles to fit the existing floor ducts while significantly improving strength and longevity.

The new design uses solid aluminium bars, offering better heat distribution and far greater durability than the original tubular construction.
