Assess the railings crossing the Victorian bridge at Kearsney Abbey Gardens in Dover, Kent.
Client: Dover District Council
Sector: Architectural
Status: Completed
We were approached by Dover District Council’s Conservation Team to assess the railings crossing the Victorian bridge at Kearsney Abbey Gardens in Dover, Kent. The bridge has undergone several phases of restoration over the years, with only a small number of original railing panels remaining.
Using one of the surviving original panels as a reference, we carefully reproduced a matching section using traditional materials and methods to ensure historical accuracy. The newly fabricated panel matched the original perfectly in both detail and appearance.
The completed work was approved by the Conservation Officer, who was extremely pleased with the result, helping to preserve the character and heritage of this historic site.
