Weather Vane

The Problem

We were approached by Charlier Construction to restore the weathervane atop the iconic Edwardian clocktower at The Duke of York's Royal Military School. Built when the school relocated to Dover in the early 1900s, the clocktower remains a prominent local landmark.

Years of exposure to the elements had left the weathervane heavily corroded and damaged, preventing it from rotating correctly. In addition, sections of the decorative crown were missing and required careful restoration and replacement

What We Did

We disassembled the whole assembly and repaired the wrought iron centre retaining shaft.
