Church belfry

Project Details

Remedial works carried out on the belfry at St. Peter's Church Folkestone

Client: St Peter’s Church, Folkestone

Sector: Architectural

Status: Completed

The original belfry was in severe disrepair due to harsh salt air, which had badly corroded the iron brackets and oak pillars. Facing imminent collapse under the heavy weight of the bell, the entire structure required urgent intervention. We designed and manufactured new custom brackets to safely support the bell on a fresh oak crossmember, while also engineering and fabricating new structural fixings to secure the vertical oak supports.
