This project involved a customer restoring a Victorian house in Capel-le-Ferne, Folkestone, with a strong passion for historical accuracy. Wanting to return the property to its original appearance, he set out to replace the gates and railings as faithfully as possible.

Through researching the history of the house, it was discovered that the original iron gates and railings had been removed during the First World War, when ironwork across the country was cut down and repurposed for the war effort.

We were commissioned to design and manufacture new gates and railings to closely replicate the originals, carefully matching the style, detail, and character of the Victorian period to restore the property’s authentic heritage.
