The gantry was specifically engineered to safely lift and accurately position the heavy granite blocks used in the construction of the pier.

This specialist piece of lifting equipment was critical to the success of the project — without it, the installation of the granite blocks would have been extremely difficult, if not impossible. Designed with both strength and precision in mind, the gantry enabled the work to be carried out efficiently and safely.

Today, the Harbour Arm is open to the public and has become one of Folkestone’s most popular and recognisable attractions.
