Project Details
We were asked by a customer to fabricate a batch of solid stainless steel ship door lock wheels, often referred to as “quick-acting” dogs. These mechanisms are fitted to watertight doors and allow a single operator to lock or unlock multiple locking points simultaneously.
Client: Private Client
Sector: Industry
Status: Completed
By turning the wheel, cams or wedges are engaged to pull the door tightly against a rubber gasket, creating a secure watertight and airtight seal.
For this project, we manufactured the wheels from solid stainless steel to ensure excellent strength, durability, and corrosion resistance in demanding marine environments. Each component was precision machined to provide smooth, reliable operation and consistent engagement across all locking points.
The finished parts offer a robust, low-maintenance solution suited to both commercial and naval vessels, where reliability and performance are critical.
